How and where to wear perfume to last longer
Thousands of people buy new bottles of perfume each day but how many of them actually know how to properly wear it in order to keep the scent throughout the day? Every time they go to a store and try out all those different outstanding fragrances, it turns out after a few days they stop wearing the new perfume they bought because of not knowing how to properly wear it.
However, this mistake is reversible in a really simple way. There are many techniques that a person can learn on how and where to wear perfume on the body. So if you have a favorite perfume that you want to wear in the best possible way, here are some tips you should consider:
Firstly, you should remember to always apply your favorite perfume after a shower. When the skin is clean, it can easily absorb the fragrance with maximum result in keeping the scent during the day. You can also apply a petroleum jelly beforehand and then apply the perfume on your skin. In this way the perfume will not directly go into the pores of the skin but to the jelly and the scent will last longer.
Secondly, do not apply too much of it. You might find it hard to estimate how much is enough and this will easily lead to over spraying yourself and instead of attracting people, you will easily have the opposite effect.
Thirdly, there are several ways how you can apply the perfume. One is by spraying in front of you and then moving into the “cloud” the perfume made. You can also spray the comb you use and then comb your hair with it. Another one is to spray directly on your skin, preferable at pulse places. Such are the wrists, neck, chest, elbow and behind the knees. Many blood vessels are close to the skin at these points and the warmth and movement of the blood will make it easier for the fragrance to spread on your body. The heat your body spreads around will carry the smell of your perfume. You should also always start from the bottom to the top of your body, because this is the direction heat increases and it will make the scent last longer.
However, keep in mind you should not rub your wrists once you apply the perfume, because it will affect the scent negatively, as well as not perfuming all of the mentioned pulse areas at once because you will exceed the acceptable amount of fragrance. If you want to directly spray your hair, then make sure there is a distance of several inches, because perfume dries the strands of the hair.
Fourthly, do not forget perfume is not the only cosmetic product you wear. During shower or bath you apply shampoos, conditioners, body lotions and so on, each of which has its own scent. What is the point of applying your favorite perfume afterwards if it will be impossible for people to recognize it? You can easily avoid this by carefully choosing the scents you apply on your body. Choose shampoos and conditioners that are similar to the scent of your perfume. You can also choose products that are of the same brand.
Fifthly, never apply perfume on your clothes. There are several reasons for this. Some perfumes leave stains on the clothes, also the scent would not last long once you walk outside. The fragrance would not be able to spread on your body if it is on your clothes.
Sixthly, the amount of perfume you apply depends on the season. Hot summer days help keep the fragrance for longer on your skin. On the other hand, cold winter days have the opposite effect.
Once you have showered and applied the perfume following these tips, you have to wait for a while until it dries on your skin and then dress. If you dress immediately, the chance the fragrance is preserved is really low. If after a while your perfume has different scent, do not panic. This can be caused by medications or different changes in hormones. In such cases, if you use a temporary medication, you can wait until it is over and start using your perfume again. You can also choose another fragrance that fits your taste.
Follow these tips and you and the people around you will enjoy each day of the outstanding fragrance you are using.
